"Disruption of lamina-associated genome organization activates neuronal programs in H3.3K27M DIPG" — bioRxiv (Genomics) · Science & Medicine
This study shows that in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma () tumors carrying the mutation, the normal organization of DNA at the nuclear lamina is disrupted. This disruption causes genes normally kept silent by being tethered to the lamina to become active, particularly neuronal genes, which may drive the aggressive, developmental-like behavior of these tumors.
The claim is based on a primary research paper posted to bioRxiv, a preprint server for biology. The paper directly presents experimental data (, RNA-seq) from DIPG cell lines, primary tumor nuclei, and embryonic stem cells, so the claim is as solid as the authors' methods and analysis, though it has not yet undergone peer review.
Genuinely new: the preprint was published on bioRxiv on September 22, 2026.
