A seventh member of the New South Wales Liberal Party has resigned from parliament ahead of the state election, adding to a series of departures that have damaged party morale.

What it means

This is a news report that a seventh member of the New South Wales Liberal Party has resigned from parliament ahead of the upcoming state election, deepening a crisis of morale within the party. The departures signal internal disunity and could hurt the party's electoral prospects.

Accuracy & sourcesGrounded

The claim is based on multiple major Australian news outlets (Sydney Morning Herald, AFR, AAP, etc.) all reporting the same event, making it highly credible. However, no direct primary source (e.g., the MP's resignation statement or official party communication) is cited in the highlight, so the framing of 'plunging morale' relies on journalistic interpretation.
