Sydney Swans player Tom Papley returned a positive roadside drug test.

What it means

Sydney Swans forward Tom Papley returned a positive preliminary roadside drug test after being pulled over by NSW Police, who also allege he was driving with a suspended licence. A second sample has been taken for confirmatory analysis, and the club has issued a statement acknowledging the incident.

Accuracy & sourcesGrounded

The claim originates from NSW Police and the Sydney Swans club statement, reported widely by multiple Australian news outlets including ABC, Guardian, and Fox Sports. It refers to a preliminary test result, so the finding is not yet confirmed by a second analysis, but the underlying events (the stop, the test, the suspended licence charge) are solidly sourced from official statements.
