"Sigma FP2 camera announced with upgrades to smallest full-frame body" — The Verge · AI & Technology
Sigma has announced the FP2, the long-awaited successor to its original fp camera from 2019. The FP2 retains the world's smallest full-frame body but adds major upgrades: a 24.5-megapixel partially stacked CMOS sensor, 6K open-gate raw video recording, a tilting touchscreen, 70 GB of internal storage, and a new autofocus system. It is designed as both a compact stills camera and a modular cinema camera.
The claim is solid: Sigma's official press release and product page (sigma-global.com) are the primary sources, and The Verge is a reputable secondary outlet reporting on the announcement. Multiple camera-tech news sites confirm the same details, so the reporting sits very close to the primary source.
Genuinely new as of October 23, 2026; this is the day Sigma officially announced the FP2.
