An arson attack suspect in Waterford was on temporary release from prison at the time of the incident.

What it means

A man arrested for an arson attack in Waterford, Ireland, that killed four members of a family, was on temporary release from prison at the time of the incident. This reveal is based on statements from Irish authorities reported by local news outlets.

Accuracy & sourcesGrounded

The claim is reported by multiple Irish news sources (Belfast Telegraph, Irish Independent) and appears to be based on official briefings rather than a published primary document. It is consistent across outlets but lacks a cited contemporaneous record, so it is likely accurate but not independently verifiable from a primary source.
