UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham affirmed the UK's support for Ukraine during a visit by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to London.

What it means

Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, publicly pledged unwavering ('rock-solid') support for Ukraine during President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to the UK. The statement is a local demonstration of solidarity rather than a shift in UK national policy, but it underscores sustained cross-party backing for Ukraine.

Accuracy & sourcesSourced

The claim rests on reporting by Politico Europe, a reputable secondary source that typically cites official statements or on-the-record remarks. Without direct access to the original statement, the accuracy hinges on Politico's correct attribution, which is standard practice for such coverage.

How new

The coverage is current, tied to Zelenskyy's ongoing UK trip, making it genuinely new and not a resurfacing of older material.
